Originally thought to be a full on reboot, word is that Shane Black will now be writing and directing the movie as a sequel to the current Predator franchise. It’s worth noting that Shane Black had starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in the original Predator in 1987.

I’m with ya! I hate the unnecessary reboots when a regular sequel can easily be made. The movies don’t really have much to do with each other anyway. No need to abolish what has already been created.
Not every movie in the Predator franchise is perfect but #1 is as close as humanly possible. Predator 2 is aight. AVP was fun-ish. AVP 2 was horrible. Predators was back to true form. Keep that going. This franchise can go in a million different directions. It just takes imaginative filmmakers. I think Shane Black can pull it off.
