“Stick a finger into the tiger’s anus!” – Storm Rothchild
Chris (Adam Brody) is an average good guy getting dumped on at work on a daily basis, even having his ideas stolen by the office jerk, Phil (Rob Huebel). But when certified teamwork instructor Storm Rothchild (Jean-Claude Van Damme) takes the entire office on a tropical field trip things get downright weird.
Let’s get this out of the way right now. There’s one reason I watched Welcome to the Jungle. Jean-Claude Van Damme. He’s only in a couple short – but funny – scenes. If he wasn’t in this, I’d have never given the movie the time of day.
Van Damme’s role isn’t a huge one but he’s definitely the highlight of the movie. His lines and actions are the funniest of the movie. The rest of the movie is humorous but often too over the top to get much more than a chuckle out of me.
What can I say? Welcome to the Jungle is pretty stupid. It’s kind of funny. Jean-Claude Van Damme is in it. That’s a thing. I’d say “What more do you need?” but it’s really not a great movie. It kept me mildly entertained for an hour and a half. Is that enough for you? If so, maybe watch it. If not, don’t. There you go. That’s kind of a review.
